The 16 members of the editorial advisory board for CARING FOR THE AGES give CARING's editors, writers, and columnists feedback on what's already appeared in CARING and, more importantly, advice on what should come. Board members' depth of knowledge gives CARING a solid foundation in the science and practice of long-term care.

The yearly rotation of EAB members took place on March 6, and CARING and AMDA would like to thank the following longtime members who have served with excellence and have now completed their tenures: David Brechtelsbauer, MD, CMD; Jiska Cohen-Mansfield, PhD; Duncan MacLean, MD, CMD; Mary Tellis-Nayak, RN, MSN, MPH.

In addition, we welcome the following new members embarking on regular 3-year rotations on the board: Karl Steinberg, MD, CMD; Pamela Chapman, DRS, LCSW, CTRS; and Barbara Hoffmann, MD, MBA, CMD.

Dr. Steinberg replaces Dr. Brechtelsbauer as editor in chief of CARING and Editorial Advisory Board chair. He is associate medical director at Scripps Coastal Medical Center, medical director of Hospice by the Sea, and medical director for the continuing care retirement center Las Villas de Carlsbad. He is also president and CEO of Stone Mountain Medical Associates Inc., a medicolegal consulting corporation, and a clinical geriatrics instructor in the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital family medicine residency program.

Dr. Chapman holds a doctorate in religious studies, a masters in social work, and a bachelor of science in recreation therapy. Possessing a lifelong interest in working with the elderly, she is a licensed clinical social worker and a certified therapeutic recreation specialist and currently teaches as an adjunct faculty member at Mira Costa College in Oceanside, Calif. She wrote the widely admired CARING guest editorial “All the Residents Win in This Marathon.”

Dr. Hoffmann is an assistant professor of family and community medicine and a family medicine hospitalist at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, State College, Pa. She is also president of Landis Consulting Corp. At Penn State, she is a member of the Commission on Women, Internal Review Board, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. She was on AMDA's Board of Directors from 1997 to 2000 and the Public Policy Committee from 1996 to 2000. She also has been a clinical consultant and faculty member for AMDA.

CARING and AMDA also wish to thank the following members for their continuing service to the CARING board: Robin Arnicar, RN, DON; Jon Berg, MD, CMD; Jonathan Evans, MD, MPH, CMD; Janet Feldkamp, RN, BSN, LNHA, JD; Laurie Forrester, PharmD; Daniel Haimowitz, MD, FACP, CMD; Jennifer Heffernan, MD; Jeffery Kerr, DO, CMD; Bill Kubat, MS, LNHA; Timothy R.
